Tried again.. FAIL
On street tires with stock 3.55 I almost always left at 4500 rpm every time. I would bog once it hooked up otherwise. If the track was really slick I slipped the clutch about 20' as I slowly rolled into the throttle. You should reach full throttle a little before the clutch comes all the way out unless you start to spin in which case you delay opening the throttle while you continue to feed in clutch. Once you feel the tire speed (relative to track speed) starting to diminish you roll in the rest of the throttle.
If it was really hooking I went full throttle while slipping the clutch out in only a few feet.
My best 60's (Mid 1.8's) happened when the track allowed me to get to full throttle in only 5-6' but still slipped the tires until the car hooked up solid about 5000 rpm. That sometimes resulted in a mid-1.8. By comparison the car only cuts high 1.7's on 4.10 and ET Streets. My car has always been easy to bog.
You should be able to get it in the 1.90-2.10 range depending on track conditions. More takes a very educated foot. The worst track I ever run on I did lower my launch rpm to 3500 rpm and on about half the passes the tires would light up when the CMCV Plates opened and send it into the rpm limiter almost before you could react (I was stock with 6250 rpm limiter at the time). The track temp was around 160F and the All-Season Pirellis got very greasey on that. Best 60' that day was 2.01 seconds.

No offense intended to anyone (AmericanSpeed, GeneK, etc.) here. But if you put yourself in my position for a minute.
I'm getting numerous different suggestions here from people that have all had better results than me. Revs being held at the point of launch seem to vary.
Since there are variables including the track prep, weather, etc. to me it seems the only way I can "troubleshoot" this is to settle on a set rev range and work from there. I can start low (2500) or higher (4500). If I can't get results after several tries then I'll switch it up and see what happens.
Last time I tried launching at over 3000rpm at my track I ended up laying down tire tracks. Was fun but embarassing. lol

Some days I can get a 4700 clutch dumb to hold, other times I have had to slip it from 4000 or so.
Cool so yah.. I'm thinking about caving in and just spending the money on some tires and wheels now. I am putting my 4.10 gears in this week.
Given just an intake/tune and 4.10 gears on the car are drag radials still a must have for traction? Or will a 295mm street tire like the nitto invo be good enough to hook up pretty easy with those two mods?
