the dealership says up to 20 lbs on stock internals. with an FMI and full exhaust you have 325 awhp and 35ft-lbs torque
thats with the stock turbo. a couple of my sti buddys run FP green turbos on 24-26psi daily driven. stock internals. they put down 400 to the wheels. im a puss and use the stock turbo to 19 psi. i only put down around 300 or so...

less than a stock EVO. i saw a mitsubishi STi evolution VIII today. how rice is that. those things are junk. the guy tries to take off from a light and lays rubber with the front tires and the rears are stopped, like a FWD evo. JUNK

So he pulled the ebrake to do a FWD burnout and ... the car is junk? and putting 300 hp to the ground is more than the EVO 8 makes to the crank...

i meant boost. evos run 19 lbs of boost. and he didn't pull the e-brake, he dumped the clutch. evos are junk. seen too many of them break after getting slightly modded. by slightly i mean hard pipe kit, exhaust, and ECU

the 03/04 evo's made 271 hp and 276 torque. the 05's made 276hp and 282 torque. the 05s have a 10.5 hotside a different compressor opening, larger waste gate flapper and a slightly more aggresive tune. the evo's come from the factory rich as hell, falling to a 9.7 (or even lower) a/f ratio. the 03/04s peaked at 19lbs and fell to 16, while the 05s peaked at 20.5 and fell to 17.
My buddy has an 05 MR (the only year the MRs were made) and with just an afc, mbc and cat back he ran 12.2@111 bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th. Had he had a regular evo with a 5spd i would not be surprised to see him break 11s on $500 worth of mods.
for more proof of how nasty the evo's can get have a look at www.srvidz.com and watch the evo there spank KB cobras, NOS and cammed ls1s and various of other cars from 60mph roll races.
The STi makes more hp stock, but with just an afc you can get more hp out of an evo than you would out of an sti with an afc
And for those of you talkign about torque. I made 375wtq at 3300 rpm and it fell to about 310wtq at 7500 rpm. I currently have for mods: cams, cam gears, hg, mbc, exhuast, intake, tune and fuel pump

my evo is holding up just fine.
and to do a fwd burnout with an awd car, all you need to do is lower the front tire pressure, my buddy did it two weeks ago in his 1g eclipse

the STi wing is around 100mph. some of the guys say the car get shaky around there w/o the wing. i wouldnt know, i took my wrx wing off, i dont need high speed downforce.

the thing i dodnt like about the evo was 271hp w/ 19 psi and a bigger turbo than the STi. the displacement makes all the difference. i know aboutt the shootouts, and evos winning...but thats because the 4g63 is older and proven. evos do spin the fronts. thats how i beat the ones i have raced.

and yes, at the moment, and for a while, the 4g63 will have TONS more parts available for cheaper than the EJ257.
power potential=evo
my preference=STi
real life=evo by far, because subaru is really a bunch of pussies. no joke. the corporation is hella lame.
