Me vs S197 GT...
Was on my way back to work from BWW and saw a beautiful silver w/ black stripes Mustang GT in heavy traffic with me. As I passed by the passenger looked over and I tossed a thumbs up. She gave one back and the driver waved. He was a younger guy (20s) but traffic was way to thick to even consider it. About 6 miles later though traffic had all merged off with 1 car in front of me (several miles up) and a few scattered cars behind me (including the GT). Slowly he makes his way through traffic to catch up and since I wasn't going much over the limit he wasn't pushing it at all to get to me.
As he approached I watched my mirror closely and went ahead and hit 3rd gear (~70mph)... Sure enough he took my downshift as his queue and I saw his front lift as he rapidly started to approach. Since I had a car in front miles up and traffic behind I knew we wouldn't be able to slow down and line up for a three honk so this would have to do. As he was getting to my rear bumper I went WOT and lost sight of him in my blind spot. At this point I was praying I wouldn't hear a whining noise and my LS1 could do it's work up top. Sure enough when I hit my 3rd to 4th shift I could catch part of him in my side mirror and once in 4th I was able to pull enough ahead to signal and move over ahead of him (leaving the car in my lane about a half mile ahead plenty of room while I shutdown)... Just before touching the brakes I believe I had hit ~125 and then started to slow down to the limit again. He moved into the right lane and gave me a nod and smile on the way by shaking his head. I tossed another thumbs up and we both turned opposite directions at the next stop light.
Good times all around and since I wasn't able to bait an SRT8 Charger into anything this morning I was pretty happy the guy wanted to play.

Thanks guys... to be honest I'm almost afraid to line up with an S197 after some of you bastages have hit the track. My clutch (106K now) doesn't like hard abuse and getting out of the hole is a big weak spot for me.
Stay tuned a stock S197 will probably catch me at a light and clean my clock soon. haha

I had an LS7 clutch lined up but some bad stuff went down and I won't be able to get it for a while now. So far no slipping that I can tell unless I try to slip it agressively from a stop... Then it just throws in the towel until it cools down haha.
