First time at the track EVER!
Yeah ik practice is only gonna help me lol. But im gonna be on the lookout for some wheels to put some DR's on for sure. But my dad's gettin headers for his new T/A...so i think i can convince him to let me buy some LTs for my car lol
I wouldnt go longtubes man. You just got that MRT catted H pipe not too long ago. I'd just stick to gears and the d/r's if you want to. And some control arms would be a nice upgrade too. And if your shifts need some work, try changing the tranny fluid to GM's syncro-mesh transmission fluid. A lot of the cobra guys run it and it shifts the smoothest. So that might be something cheap to look into as well. And if you would happen to do gears, go 4.10's because you can always find some 27-28" tires to bring your gear down a little bit if you need to. M&H makes a 28" tall drag radial for 17" wheels. But gears and that stuff will help. But if you are going to launch with d/r's...better get 31 splines.

Hell yeah on the GM synchromesh. I had some BAD grinds going into second gear at 8k rpms, and decided to try the synchromesh friction modified. To my pleasent suprise it cleared it right up, and shifts real smooth now. I won't be using anything else in the teggy.

Well the guy said that he could cut the MRT h pipe back? But im lookin at gears too, idk about 4.10s its my DD, and i like gas mileage haha.
My dad doesn't want me goin down to the track too much so idk if the DR's will get much use. But imma try imma try lol.

Yea thats what i thought. I just want to get this last power mod then i'll just work on suspension and appearance until im out of college. Then this thing will start to turn nasty lol.
The car is very close to a 13 as it sits. All it needs is a better 60'.
A Coupe will cut low-mid 1.9's with factory gears and tires so Im assuming a Vert has a 1.96-2.03 in it. I think with good track prep, good air and good driving you can get it there as it sits. Keep working on those 60's. Bring the rpm up and walk her out about 20' on the clutch. You may want to play with the amount of heat you put in the those Nitto Street Tires as you will find they will have a certain optimum temp range. More heat isnt alway better.
Its been my experience syncromesh doesnt work the greatest in the TR3650. I think your better off sticking to the Mercon / Dexron III it comes with. That is if you can find it instead of the dual rated Mercon/Mercon V stuff.
4.10 is a little short for the 2V. Most guys have better luck with 3.73 or 3.90 although with the extra weight of the Vert the 4.10 might work well. Dont know any Vert guys that tried it. Around here all the Verts seem to have Centris if they are not cruisers.
LT Headers are a real @#$% on a SN95 / New Edge. Trust me you will be cussing by the time you are through. I really dont know that i could force myself to do another set.
Good Luck.

Yea...ik im close. I kinda just want the sound of longtubes as well. But i wouldn't be installing them myself. My local speed shop would do the install.
I may just do some suspension mods and be done til college...jeesh decisions decisions.

Ok i'm confused here.....why do you need to convince your dad to let you buy long tubes? Is it your money? If so there would be no negotiation on what I did with it.
Also...consider the fact that long tube install labor prices cost as much or more than a supercharger install at most shops.....whether you do it or the sad sappy sucker at the shop does...its still time-consuming and frustrating.
