In a round about way I will try to put this to rest. I had a run in with an E46 M3 'vert. We went initially from a roll and shut down for the popo. Lined up at a light and I murdered him from the start, he couldn't drive for **** and I had him by 2 cars at the top of third. I will say that had we not shut it down then he would have eaten me alive had I shifted into 4th, he was creeping like a hungry grim reaper. The OP's car just doesn't have what it takes to hold a candle to an E46 from a roll. One of my training partners just bought a C63, it's a brutal little car. Big HP, massive torque mated to a very cerebral 7speed autobox. It makes his S4 seem like my Sentra. Anyway we ran an asian guy in a silver M5 from the hit. Like I did to the M3, we jumped out measureably off the hop only to get reeled in and shown tailaights. I was flabberghasted...the C63 was about the fastest stock automatic car Ive ever been in and we got walked. The M5 with it's small high RPM pots and short stroke just kept on coming like a steam train. 507hp and only 368ftlbs but once they come alive they're demonic. For everyday driving I'm all about the torque but it sure felt ****ty to lose in a brand new performance Benz. Guys really, that thing killed us and don't bring up driver mod. The Merc has a 7speed and you just nail it...Moral of the story, HP wins from a roll, torque gets you out of the pit with force...

and like stated earlier, all these "experts" in M3 tech fail to realize that 40MPH is a dead spot in the transmission... it's smack dab in the middle of 1st and 2nd, whereas 40MPH has always been the mustangs sweet spot

I searched and searched for info on this legendary mid 13 second pass in an exhaust only (no D/R's, no other mods at all) Bullit and I couldn't find it. The earliest post I could find where blackonblacksls went to the track was this one: https://mustangforums.com/forum/stre...the-track.html

Seems like a credible fellow, so if he says he ran a 13.5 with nothing but an exhaust, I should believe him.

Some things never change around here.

Try searching in the 4.6 section.
While your at it look up dimebag, iirc he ran a 13.7 with a stock new edge gt.

I found the dimebag thread.
https://mustangforums.com/forum/4-6l...-page-6-a.html

Havn't found the blackonblackls thread tho. I think a 13.5 with the bullit is possible with a 1%er driver. The bullit has a better intake and a better suspension than a regular new edge gt. *Not going to happen with your average driver.* But the way you put it,you make it seem like its totally impossible.

you're beating a dead horse, once bick makes up his mind that he wants to argue with me no proof, facts or ancient tableture found will make him stand down.... I guess he is just always right on everything and makes no mistakes XD

13.7 is not 13.5 and as many pointed out, the state of the car is questionable. And I never said the the OP's story was impossible. Anything can happen on the street. All I said is he should have been beaten soundly and I will stand by that. To say a stock Bullit is a mid 13 second car is like saying my Z06 is a 10 second car. Hey....someone did it, so it is, right?

Look, Chief. I've owned a GT. I did the N/A mods before I went with a blower. I had 3.73's and then 4.10's in the car. I've driven an E46 M3. I think I am qualified to say that the M3 should have beaten the OP. I raced my STI against my brother's C6 Z06 and raped him off the line and shut it down at 100 with him 4 cars behind me. He totally bothed his launch and missed a gear....but I guess it was a driver's race.

Cliffs: I believe the OP's story, even though he lied through his teeth on his car domain site. And I think the OP should have been beaten in the race, irregarless of what speed the race started. Flat spot in the M3 or no, the OP said he pulled through the entire race.

Do you think I'm pulling this out of thin air, or do you find blacksls's times hard to believe?

Since you are searching and searching for it, send him a PM. He made his pass a few years ago, so details are a little sketchy (I don't care too much if you don't believe it), but it might have been a 13.2 with gears/exhaust, and not a 13.5 with just exhaust.

Maybe next you would imply that I'm saying this happens all the time.....no, it doesn't, but it has happened before. dimebag ran 13.7 multiple times in his bone stock GT car, which was ridiculous, but it still happened. Just like when Morbid's auto GT ran well against an E46 M3 up to 150ish mph...it was also ridiculous, but it still happened.

That is usually the case when the argument involves you. Don't you have some Gatorade to sell?

See my other post for what I am implying. I spelled it out pretty clearly.

Should I go find some freak stock E46 time and use that as the basis for my argument?
