My Integra GS-R was similar in nature, although not as powerful as an S2000. It was bone stock, 4 door, gay looking wheels, but it was surprisingly quick for what it was. but yeah unless I was willing to wind it to 8200rpm it was pretty pathetic.

That's just how those motors are designed. It'd be like saying a stock S197 is "pathetic" from 7,000 rpms and up.

?

the stock redline in the S197 arrives before 7,000RPM and the torque is in abundance below 3,00RPM while the horsepower carries it above 3,000RPM


the 3V V8 a perfectly balanced powerband that isn't pathetic anywhere.... same in the LSX V8's

just because a car needs to rev up to an ungodly RPM to make any sort of power doesn't mean other engine designs have similar flaws to compare it to... apples and oranges
