Both the e-brake and the footbrake are going to effect the rear tires, the ones you are spinning, hence the question. I realize the latter would also lock the front wheels in addition to. I just want to be clear on my understanding here that's all.

FWIW I can barely keep the throttle right where I want it when I go to take off in 1st from a dig. Seems kinda touchy to me. Obviously if you can do all that heel-toe your 10x the driver I'll ever be.

the e-brake locks the rear brakes only..... the motor will push right past it...

you need to lock the fronts, that's where all the braking power is as well

Is learning how to heel toe pretty much a necessity then without a line lock? Or is getting on the brake with your left foot immediately after releasing the clutch good enough?

Last OT question I promise. Apologies to OP for hijack.

yes.... otherwise the car will roll out too far

IMO - if your going to the strip a lot, a line lock is a must... saves your rear brakes

Its fine either way. I do better getting off the clutch and onto the brake, just depends on which way your more comfortable with.

Bingo!

Like stkjock said, the motor will overwhelm any braking force applied to the rear.

Well I guess when I get drag radials someday I'll have to go find a parking lot, bring some water, and practice this myself before going to the strip. That way I don't ram the car into a wall or kill someone.

We have some racing going on this weekend but I don't know about going or not. The DA is going to be terrible. 5000' at best, and nearing 6000' around 6-7PM. Plus it's going to be crowded. International mustang meet is going on along with a few other things out there. I can't decide to go then or wait until bracket racing day on the 19th and go out earlier in the morning just to TNT.

I've never heel-toed it. I just get on the brake with my left foot after i dump the clutch. I might move a couple of inches before I stop, no big deal. Do my burnout and then let off the brake first (other wise you may get confused). Then off the gas and into the clutch as I slow to a stop.
