No offense Shelby, but the b18 doesn't make 170 ft.lbs, they make something like 125 ft.lbs., now with a decent amount of mods, such as cams and what not they might be respectable, but even in a 2100 lb. crx they aren't good for much more than mid 13s.

They were probably just playing around seeing how your car would run....I have it happen to me often. Be careful, one day your gonna run across the one that has the right set-up under the hood and they can be quick, might run you door to door if not better. But its rare...good kill.

Good advice. I know a couple of guys where I race at Atco that have killer Hondas. High 10 and low 11 second cars trapping in the mid to high 130s. They look stock as can be also except for the slicks sticking out the front fenders.

It really depends on the B16. A B16A with ctr cams and bolt ons in a CRX or EF hatch (88-91) is REALLY close, if not in the 13's.

Yea, but I'm taling stricktly about the kids who slap an intake and 4+ inch exhaust on the car and think thay magically gained 40+ hp.

Bolt-ons on Hondas (I/H/E) do nearly nothing. The K-series motors are slightly better about it but still require a tune to see real gains.

But the random kid with an autozone intake and exhaust? He's still making 103whp.

People are pissing in the wind spending money on bolt ons for K-series. They may run a hair faster with I/H/E, but IMO, F/I is really the only way to get a significant gain from them.
