On the way home an EK sedan (96-00) tried to race me. I don't really know what he was thinking. It was emerald green, lowered, catless exhaust that was obviously a single cam based on the sound, and 4 people in it. Stereo was blasting, I could even hear it on the freeway at 60 mph.

To the race, he got up next to me and downshifted. I shifted from 5th to 3rd because I felt 2nd was unnecessary. He floored it and we stayed side by side as I slow rolled into my powerband, then I was GONE. When I got to about 5,000 RPM in 3rd he was at least 4-5 cars back. I tapped my brakes to let him know I was done. He came up to me again and all the passengers were throwing their hands up at me. We did this a few more times with more tragic results.

What did they think was going to happen? NA d-series Civic in that fat EK chassis? Sigh...

probably the same reason alot of stang owners try to race vettes or vipers.....fun or just giving you a try that's all.

 

to this day i still dont understand "ricers". Throw an exhaust on it and they will attempt to beat ne thing with wheels. silly.

I doubt it, I know ricers who honestly believe their intake/exhaust b16 make over 200 hp and can take mustangs/vettes/camaros, all day.
