Default TL Type-S 1 : Caddy 0

Haha this is such a fun kill story, nothing like this ever happens to me so I'll share it with you guys.

My friend and I are coming back from eating dinner at a wings place when I decide to hop the border into South Carolina to get some cheap gas there. On the main road out of town I roll up to a stoplight to a Caddy DTS on dubs with two big Panthers flags (I think) rolled up in the windows. I have my window down because I ripped a ridiculous fart and my friend was pissed at me. I see the dudes look over and all of a sudden he puts on Party in the USA and starts blasting it. Him, his passenger, me and my friend all busted out laughing.

The light turns green, I hear him start to gun it. I didn't really have time to turn off TC or pop it into SS so I just gunned it. We stayed pretty even until about 40mph when I gradually started pulling away, I probably put about 1.5 cars on him until about 70mph. He came up and honked his horn, rolled down his window and his passenger was like "DAYAM! Is that **** supercharged?!?" I was like "haha nah man i'm NA!" ... "Dayum dude that **** moves OUT!"

We ended up stopping to get gas at the same place, so I rolled over and talked to them and they were cool as **** haha. I was like "Dude your caddy moves out with that Northstar!" and he was like "not like yours man, what's in that thing??" So we talked for a while, he said he hasn't lost a race since he bought the car haha. He wanted a rematch but we were heading opposite ways so I told him I'd keep my eyes open for him in the future

I've decided for the time being to keep this car, I was debating dumping it and picking up a new MDX because I'd like more space. But it makes more sense to just pay it off and then start saving for my Z06 hopefully here within the next 3 or 4 years Soooo, that means I'll probably end up modding this car more haha....looking into J-pipes, finishing off the exhaust and a sway bar upgrade.

Thanks for listening S/S!

Haha, good kill Wrx! +1 on some cheap SC gas. NC needs to get with the program imo.

I lol'd at the fart thing. :P I do that to my wife a lot, only I usually lock the windows so she can't let it escape, hehe!

I hear ya on keeping the TL-S. Nothing like a good run to get the modding bug back in your system. I tried to bait a TL-S into a run with the Mach today, but it was no go. I just wanted to see how the TL would pull up top from about 65 mph until whenever. Anyway, good run and funny story.

What do you have done to the type s? Its just my opinion, but i think you're car is much nicer/sporty then the mdx.

Haha thanks Stone! Against a true muscle car like your Mach I don't think my car stands a chance at all.

Nothing performance wise other than a hacked intake silencer and I swapped out one of the stock resonators with a Magnaflow one. Neither adds any power really. I've got a drop in K&N filter sitting on my floor I've just been too lazy to throw in.

I hear you on the MDX, the new ones are actually ridiculously nice and have more tech stuff than my car, but they're definitely not sporty. Although I've heard they don't handle like an SUV bc of the AWD system. I've also cross-shopped the turbocharged RDX (although I don't like the looks as much as the MDX) and the older body style FX35/45.

It would nice if Acura would start using their turbocharged set-up in some of their other vehicles.

A turbo TSX would be cool...although they already offer a V6 TSX, which kind of conflicts with the TL imo. Maybe it's time to turbo the TL.

Yeah using the turbocharged engine in the RDX in one of their sedans would be badass, the TSX would be the perfect platform because it's a little smaller than the TL. There is a company that FINALLY came out with a turbo kit for the 3G TL-S (they've had a few S/Cs out for the standard TL for a while) but I don't want to build this into a project car. I drive way too much and it needs to be reliable

Now the new TLs have 300hp and AWD instead of FWD like my car, that would be a good platform for a turbo kit too. Too bad they are SO freaking ugly. A salesman at the dealership tried to convince me when I had my car in for warranty service that I should upgrade to the 4G TL. He was like "the base one is way faster than your car"...I laughed and was like "no offense, but I've owned some seriously fast cars and none of the cars in this showroom or parking lot are fast"

haha

They new ones are some ugly sombiches. I don't know why all the auto manufacturers are making the front of their cars look like its a got a human/clown face.

Won't your TL-S handle one of the newer 300 horse AWD models?
