it was a built car, i know that for sure. and it absolutely raped my Z28. maybe i should swap a Duramax into the Z instead of building the LT1...

The stock tdi comes with a t3 turbo I believe and the t4 aka k04 is a very minor upgrade to the stock turbo. I believe the tdi owner may have swapped turbos and upped the boost but a more realistic figure for that setup would be 250 hp 300 torque and even that's a big stretch on that 2.0l but its not impossible.

In a 3000 lb car it would still be a rocket

there was a cummins diesel (i think 4.5L) in a truck in a lab next to ours made for military operations that had something like 200hp:800ftlbs. It would top out at 60mph, but it would do that going up a mountain.

i believe the torque figures. diesel engines are known for the insane amount of tq they put out

fyi, cammed, larger injectors, and a hell of a lot more boost than stock is going to equate to a LOT more power out of a diesel. it was actually still running very rich when he blew past me.
