maybe some of the other s197 guys (like stkjock) knows for sure. But I'm pretty sure quite a few people in the s197s are running in the 10s, pushing well over 500whp on slicks on the stock rear-end. I know there is one guy in the 10s with over 500whp hundreds of passes with stock motor/rear. I'm not sure what his 60's are or if he is running slicks though.

I think they probably upgraded at least their ls if not their axles to. I just lost my ls a month ago at the strip and got it covered under extended warranty. But it's still the stock ls so don't know how long it will last.

I have a friend with a Turbo 3valve Went 10.7 @ 133 with the stock rear end. He has had numerous 500+ hp track passes on the stock rearend. Only thing done to it is a rearend girdle.

I was just thinking baout sending you a text on the way home from work tonight.

Good job on your best time. Don't worry about your axles, they will hold just fine. Your Diff and tranny are the weak links. I can't think of anyone who has broken one of our axles at the track.

I have two sets of wheels and tires for the track. I should sell all of them and buy a set of 15x10 bogarts or welds for the back with the money. I known it would give me a better 60' and better times through the traps.

Next month T&T will be starting up here. I will be taking out the 65' and the 06' to make some passes. Looking forward to seeing the old man makes some passes.

Have you heard if Tony is coming out? If so, I may have hime do a 100 oct race only tune for me. Get 600 rwhp and bust out a few 10 second passes.

I would save your money on the girdle and just get a better differential.

Thanks Simon. I know I'm kind of in the same boat as you I could usesome stickier tires but I think I would only shave maybe 2/10ths off or get some big and littles and get into the 10's. I was joking with steve that we should all go in on a set of big and littles. I just want to dip into the 10's but I don't think I'd use them enough to justify spending 1200-1500$.

Ya I haven't heard anything about Tony either. I am thinking of doing a tune for a 15 lb pulley myself. Figure with my tb and that I could get to 550 whp.

If you saved 60-80 lbs in wheels tires and took .15 off of your 60', I bet a low 11 in the 11.teens or so.

I am thinking of doing it, but rather I will probably save money and prepare for tranny grenade. I think I have settle on the Tremec T56 Magnum in a 6 speed. I think I can run my RST that I have now with that trany, get a new cross member and DS and call it good.

Then I wouldn't be nervous doing 4500 rpm clutch side steps with big and littles.

Oh, I'm ordering my mid pipe pretty quick to run the 2 step. Should be interesting.

Not a bad plan. I was thinking of sticking with a built 3650. But haven't really done the research at this point. Ah, it never ends. The two step should be nice. So, you are going to remove your cats. If so you can do that without getting it tuned?
