Yea yea, I know, not much of a race, but the story is worthy due to the passengers. Was visiting my mom for the weekend and out getting some oil for her MKX. Out of nowhere this Mazda 3 doucheback with a car full of what looked like a group of Jersey Shore rejects pulls up next to me. (We're talking headbands, spiky hair, jerseys.) The driver is dead serious about going at it. This is just a base Mazda 3 with a total four occupants mind you. I let the guy launch and I decided to give him the good stuff. When they finally caught up for the next light the driver was so mad about it he flips me off and the guys are yelling at me like I just vandalized their existence. I looked over with a blank stare :-| as they beat their chests in agony like a chest-burster was about to pop out of them and just nailed it and went away for good.

 

lol ive raced and beat 2 speed3 so far so I cant imagine how bad it must have been in a regular 3 with 4 passengers.

 

Nice run.. I've been seeing alot of guys lately running against those Mazdas. Are they fast in stock form or with mods??

 

If you're referring to the OP's mazda- I have a friend with an almost stock 3 who I run all the time (for ****s and giggles usually).

We usually stay dead even at launch and up to about 10-15mph he usually has a slight lead (I'm guessing it's his weight), but by the end of 1st or beginning of 2nd I start pulling and never stop until we shut down. This was in my stock 4.0, haven't tried since the tune. He has a manual, with some ram intake mod.



Weird that so many people are racing those 3's lately, a few days ago I had a 2.3 model with weird rims try to race me, and I still pulled away with 3 passengers... Guy was a major douche though, when I shut down he swung into my lane and brake checked me.

Good run OP, story gave me some laughs but I'd be weary of a bunch of guidos in a car...

 

The 3's are decent for what they are, they handle really well though
