It getting closer now than ever. My car is finally here from Iowa.
Need to do some work on somewhat ragged electrical system but thats about it.
We are having an all Ford drag race here at S.I.R Tucson,AZ) on something 10/23 and I think I'll try and make it.
Car is '84 hatch, 306 roller, carbed, step headers, C-4/3500 converter/4.30's. 325X28" M/T sticky's.
Don't really know what to expect it to run out here as the strip is at 3100'+ elevation and the A.D. will probably be 5-6000'

 

I might be expecting somewere in the 14s with a 28" tall tire and no major motor mods with a auto

 

I think it'll be a bit quicker than that.
TFS ported heads and a cam in mid500's lift range. Victor jr. intake, BG carb. All MSD electronics. Bassani step headers.
Car has run 11.80's @ Cordova IL. with 100hp squeeze and 11.50's on motor.
Question is, what will it run in 5-6000' air density?
My thinking is 11.90's on motor, unk on squeezs.......

No, been down here 15+ years. Took sort of a temporary retirement from racing about 4 years ago. Got out of the Mopar thing and into the Ford thing with a '59 Ranchero resto-rod. Then I was able to go racing again so I deciced a 5.0/Fox was the thing to do. Man in Des Moines made me a deal on a car turn-key so I sort of imported it to down here.
BTW, there will be an all Ford swap/show/race in Tucson on 10/22. Details will follow as I get more info.......
