Beat a Challenger.....

Funny how a lot of LX guys wanted manuals so bad before the Challenger came out.. only to find out how difficult it is to launch with it once it did!

The srt 8 with the 6.1 is pretty fast. I raced one from a roll about mid 3rd and went all the way to mid 5th and his front bumper stayed right in the middle of my front wheel. I had a passenger he was by him self. I weigh 260 and my buddy weighs about 220. So i felt real good .

Update: I ran into guy with Challenger this morning, it's a '10 SRT-8 manual.....he said he can't understand how I beat him, but he thought he was catching up before he slowed down to turn(I don't doubt that at all, those cars are faster than mine). I think the launch I had was the biggest factor, just plain left him to play catch up. I don't think I want a rematch-LOL

I have ran 2 3v's, one being modded, pulled him by a few lengths to 100+ from around a 45 pull. The other was stock, and it was ugly, 50ish -100mph and i had a bus on him. Not even worth posting about really.
Not trying to stir up shiz, just posting my own experience wth a HEMI.
OP, i dont doubt your story, and it seems like you know you beat the driver, and sometimes that feels better than beating a car because of more power.
Good Kill!!

I wish my stock 08 GT auto was quick.. I remember getting beat by bolt on RSX's and Integra Type R's left and right. It was not as quick as I had wanted it to be!
A vortech and 4.10's sure changed a lot of things though rofl

The OP's run sounds alot like the one I had with a 6.1 SRT Challenger back when my car was stock. Every time I went to shift I expected to get passed, but I never did. It wasnt til we got over 100 he managed to pull on me. Mine is a manual though, and it had the 3.31 gears at that time.
The Challenger was a black one, so at the next light I wasked, "Is that an R/T"? The guy was seething as he said, "Its an SRT dude". It was the first Challenger I ever raced so I really wasnt sure. He was so pissed off I didnt even ask if he was an auto or manual.
