I thought some people would like to see how mods have affected my 1985 5.0 5spd
the car has 200 thousand miles on it but still runs strong

--my first time at the track with nothing done to the car. 16.7
--i then put in 4.10s 31 spline alxes and bfgoodrich drag radials 15.5
--then i coverted the car to five lug, put in adjustible shocks and steeda upper and lower control arms, i put in BBK long tubes,BBK h pipe,Flowmaster 40 series mufflers 14.5
--took the a/c and smog pump out, worked on my launches and got the car running a consitant 14.2


soon to come will be the 327 stroker and im gonna shot for 12s

 

i thought that it was a 331 stroker...?

was your car in proper running order when you got it? because 16.7 is a half second slower than a BAD run for my daily driver, and its an automatic 6 cylinder FWD...

 

No the carb was not tuned good. Its was my first time so i wasnt driving good. i had the tires spining alot. My driving was bad. i looked up track times for it that they took i guess in 85 and the car ran 15.8 so. And the car has 200,000 miles on it. And it is a 331 stroker but its not because it would be if i bore the block .030 over but im not going to so it will only be a 327.

 

Decent set of heads on the stroker with a carb working right and you should see 12's easy....
