Not all cops are dickholes. Although it is generally getting harder to get away with those types of things, a lot of the departments around where I live have significantly increased traffic patrols to increase revenue. I got pulled for 78 in a 70 recently. I couldn't believe I was getting stopped for 8 over on the interstate. I've passed many a trooper doing 80+ and in general they don't mess with you unless you are at least 10 over the limit. It was night so I didn't see him until I was right next to him. He was cool though, made sure I wasn't drunk as it was late, he asked me what the speed limit was, I told him, he told me I was going 78 and to slow down and he let me go.

ahh 45mph.. I'm sure if you had kept it pegged for a 80+ run it would have been different. (which is why i dont go more than 10 mph over) hehe

That's cool though.. good story.

Well boys, I got busted today too, only I blew the doors off a deputy's charger at 120 mph. Of course he pulled me. He literally just stared at me for at least 20 seconds without speaking a word. Then he let me know that the only reason I wasn't getting a ticket was because he already had someone arrested in his car, but that I was about to receive an "*** chewing". He did too, asked me WTF I was thinking and after seeing that I am a class A CDL driver, he really laid into me. Talked to him for a bit, left with a warning! A ticket like that would've cost me my job, which would've resulted into a snowball of **** for me. Makes ya think...

Real bad, I'm a CDL-A driver and drive a tractor-trailer locally for a living, so that little stunt could've honestly cost me my job..which would caused a snowball of **** for me.

He came off an exit ramp. I was 4 lanes over and just didn't see him in time. I could've probably left him, but with traffic building, the number of po-po in the area, etc, it just wasn't worth the risk, regardless of the fact that a ticket like that would've cost me everything financially...I got lucky.

Stone, I don't understand why you would drive that way if a ticket would have cost you everything financially...
