Default 5.0 vs (friend) V6 Camaro

As my name states, I have a 94 gt 5.0 ho 5 speed convertible vs a pos auto 3.4 lol its my good friend and I told him I'd run him so we get off of school and he guns it out of class to beat me to walmart so I get up next to him and I was going 45 in 4th trying to save gas, and he starts punching it and I drop it down a gear and just blow past him. the way I see it a kill is a kill.

Any mods to the 5.0? This race sounds like it was the turtle vs. ahh a slightly quicker turtle.

LOL those 3.4Ls where SLllllloooooooooowwwwwwww I used to beat one in my 3.1L 1994 Cutlass Supreme SL.

No I'm really not kidding... was a slow dead heat race until 80 or so then I would creep past. damn that's pathetic to think about.

This is what I'm talking about...

Sadly now that I think about it... there was a 1994 Mustang GT Auto Vert that I used to have a close race with against the Cutlass as well.... took him until at least 60 to even creep ahead... by 80 he would start to finally pull. Ugh.. now I remember why my LT1 car felt like a damn ferrari.

That is sad. Something has to be wrong with that Mustang or the driver. It weighs less and has a 55hp advantage. Not to mention a bunch more torque.

Curb on my cutlass was 3405 to his 3450 (it was an auto, may have been a bit heavier)... Either way yeah that thing was a sad sad excuse of a mustang, I believe they were supposed to run high 15s iirc.

I only looked up one curb weight quote for the cutlass and it said 3600lbs but that did seem heavy for sedan of the era and you would know better.

I agree on high 15's for the SN-95 5.0 but I couldn't see the cutlass doing any better than 17's. So that car must have been a sad excuse for a '94 Mustang lol.

You know it. haha... I think the best Ive heard a 3.1L pulling was a high 16.. down low was the only place I could keep with him but who knows how much of that was wheelspin or just lazy stock converter/trans. Either way it was probably one of the biggest things that pushed me towards the ltwon... I was 16 at the time and easily swayed.
