First outing to the strip...
I only got in four runs......had a hard time getting the right launch rpm and clutch release. I got the best luanch after dropping the Nitto drag radials to 20 psi yielding a 2.01 60ft. The best time was 13.36 at 103.69mph.
Hmm, now I just need to get those 3.73's in and have that custom chip burned..........might just squeak out a high 12........
Anyone else running Nitto's at the track? If so, what tire pressure do you run?

you dont even have your gear in???? your gone to love your track times after you get them in..... i went to the track tonight and i lowered my street tires to 17.5 on the last run, i heard its not safe going below 20 but i heard some guy go as low as 15, so i comprimised, and the guy that went to 15 said he droped .5 off and my brother ran his fox tonight going from 14.5 to 13.5 cause of tire pressure giving him no spin
my nittos sit at like 14, and they still dont hook for ****, i pulled a 2.0 60' rolling off the line and still roasting the tires, my DR's are bald as hell though, and just not good enough for the power i am making... when i ran them at the track with 25 psi i pulled 2.2s all day long just spinning, lowered the pressure and hooked a little better but still spun... i guess its all in the life of the tire and the power your making... ive been told to go even lower then 13 at the track, but ive had mixed opinions on that... also if you get a 3.73 as opposed to stock there is going to be a lot more torque put to the ground so youll have more of a traction problem, if it wasnt already a problem before
I can't wait to get the gears in, I have them sitting in an old rear end in my garage, just need to have them installed. I think i'm going to wait until spring, hopefully I will be able to afford some type of locker by then.
thanks for your input red. I'm quite sure the traction problem will only get worse with the lower gears, although it hooks fairly decent on the street right now from a rolling start. My limited slip is getting fairly week also, most burnouts last night were 1 wheel peel's...I think I could hook up a little better if I could get some heat in both tires....my best luck was doing a dry hop after the burnout, launched at about 2000rpm or so and didn't just dump the clutch......never really raced a stick at the track so I was still trying to get the launch sequence down. I think I could get down into the 1.90's with some practice and the right tire pressure.
