What's the difference? I had a 91 Geo Metro with NO engine problems at all. The 92 Ford was a pile. I took care of it, but every other week there was a problem. I didn't even get to drive it for a month because of repairs to the engine and head.
I bought my Civic used with 38k miles, it now has 70,700 on it, and I beat on it harder than I ever did on the Ford... yet no engine/drivetrain problems at all.
My point is is that the Ford I owned left me stranded three times, none of my other cars ever have. I have coworkers who've rented Taurus's and owned other Fords and had problems like crazy. These same people have owned Hondas with minimal, non crucial problems.

My son drives an Accord Coupe V6 to college. When he comes home for the weekend and wants to enjoy driving a car, he takes out our 88 SC GT.

Yeah redass, because your baby 281 14 second V8 is a "real" car huh? If you want a real car, buy a Ferrari.

I know what you mean and agree with you to a degree. However, I own a Civic and love it. It is my daily driver. I bought my 93 Honda Civic EX new and it has been nothing short of awesome. It has been super reliable and very economical. It has 180,000 miles on it and runs as well as it did when I drove it off the lot. It has been paid off for 8 years now and I have put very little in it other than normal maintenance type things and a new A/C compressor. Having this car as my daily driver and getting 32MPG in town helps me to justify driving my Stang on occassion.

Yes, but since everyone is allowed to jump on me for wanting a car with gas mileage, I'm allowed to jump on them for having a V8 that, out of the assembly line, is slow.
