I think a WS6 has it all over Mustangs as far as appearance.

I chose an 04 Cobra for a couple reasons, factory warranty, BUILD quality (damn GM).

If I had to choose between a WS6/SS over a GT or Mach 1, I'd def. take the WS6/SS. But I love the way Mach 1's look, probably my favorite looking car..

I've ridden in camaros and firebirds, and those things are too cramped inside, I mean, it's too big of a car with too little of an interior. Just not comfortable or practical as a DD. The stupid hump on the passenger side is just ridiculous, the crappy interior (admit it, it is much worse than the mustang's), and the engine looks incredibly hard to work on!! I mean, even a change of spark plugs is a bitch to do!! And they are discontinued, period. Mustangs for one look a lot better (in my opinion), have a very wide aftermarket, and have a lot more...how do you say it...that something that makes it just desirable, at least for me. I'd rather have a lot less horsepower and be comfortable than have an amazing motor and hate everything else, you know??[&:]
Why is this always brought up? The 71 Hemi Cuda has been out of production for decades and yet it remains a very desireable car, GM killed the f-body due to lack of sales, which was thier own fault due to lack of marketing, IMO it was a huge blunder, but it does not make the them any less of a car. Personally I like the way the interior in my Camaro is laid out better than my Stang, the shifter in the Stang is in a very awkward position, and contrary to what most people think the car does not rattle and squeak. Yes the 5.0 has a huge aftermarket but so deas the 350, it's unfair to try and compare the 5.0 aftermarket to the LS1 aftermarket because of how long the 302 based engine has been around. Now go compare the 4.6 vs. LS1 aftermarket and there is more avalible for the LS1. It's all opinions anyways, as long the owner likes the car thats all that really matters, we all bought our cars for whatever reason, it's up to us to enjoy them.

Like Zoie said, it also depends on what you were brought up. Personally, i dont know the difference between LS1, WS7, or warp drive 9. I'm sure if i sat down for 3 minutes and tried, I could figure it out, but I dont really care that much. I drive a 5.0 because if something breaks on it, or i want to upgrade or replace a part, I'll know pretty much exactly what it is, and what parts will interchange with it.

Also, um, they have a 48ish cubic inch displacement over us 5.0s

You forgot due to lack of styling too. Personally, I'm not feeling the whole 'spaceship' look of the last generation camaro's. I rode in a friends for a while and I hated the fact the nose disappeared after about 6" from the windshield and the car really didn't handle as well. Suspension was too squishy for a car that big and that dang interior looked the same as the GM pickups and the camaros from the 80's. Lack of Market research would cover ALL my complaints

Well no I di'nt forget lack of styling because thats just your opinion vs. mine. I feel that the Mustang is kinda girly looking but thats my opinion which really does does not matter one bit in the grand scheme of things.

Thats like comparing the 05 Mustang to the 05 GTO. Motor Trend rated the Mustang higher because they didn't like the way it looked. Yet it out performed the Mustang in every area.

Thats really a bunch of crap. I think the 05 Mustang looks like Poo. Much like every other Ford vehicle. I loved the 99-04 Mustangs. But the 05+ is fugly.

See...It's all a matter of your personal preference.

Same could be said for the 'show' on the Speed Channel regarding the comparison between the Pontiac GT (whatever it is) and the Mustang GT. Mustang had it beat yet they went with the Pontiac.

Personal preference (looks) is what can make someone make a decision and actually spend the money. The fact that GM ignored the majority (most people buy on looks) and went with the minority (sleeper performance car) is what decided the fate. There are things *I* don't like about the new mustangs either. Headlights on the non GT or non Pony Package are spaced so dang far apart that (to me) the car looks like something you would see in a 70's movie. [:'(] I like the rear, I like the side, interior..ehhh..dunno.

Good example..the new 300 HP Range Rover, I don't care how big of a motor it has..it's FUGLY! Looks like scion on 'roids.

Think about it this way. When the F-bodies were out, how many commercials did you see featuring them? How many did you see in TV shows or movies? Billboards? Radio contests? Promotional cars? These are all ways that Ford pushes the Stang (which is a smart thing). GM could have done more to promote the cars, instead they rested on thier butts and raked in the dough from strong SUV sales, well that has since sailed, and now they are left without an affordable entry level performance car.
