First of all, I'm sorry for whoever I might be offending with this question.....but with all this talk about how the LS1's are soo superior to the Mustang engines (even pre-03 cobras) why would you get a Mustang instead of a Camaro or Trans Am??? Just trying to learn a lil bit..do mustangs respond better to mods or is it purely out of Mustangpride???

 

Personal preference...and the fact Mustangs are still being built!!!!!

 

People just prefer one over the other for whatever reason. I own one of each so it's win/win for me.

the mustang looks nicer and sounds meaner (even though it's slower).

 

It all depends on what experiences you have had and in many cases, how you were brought up(Ford vs GM). Many may say that the styling is also a big factor. And like 03YP said, mustangs are still being built. I happened to be introduced to mustangs and never looked back. THe LS1s are nice in their own respect but, I will always still have a FOrd.....


And I couldn't resist.....

I always thought the look of the mustang was always nicer than a camaro, but I wish my mustang had an LS7

 

I've ridden in camaros and firebirds, and those things are too cramped inside, I mean, it's too big of a car with too little of an interior. Just not comfortable or practical as a DD. The stupid hump on the passenger side is just ridiculous, the crappy interior (admit it, it is much worse than the mustang's), and the engine looks incredibly hard to work on!! I mean, even a change of spark plugs is a bitch to do!! And they are discontinued, period. Mustangs for one look a lot better (in my opinion), have a very wide aftermarket, and have a lot more...how do you say it...that something that makes it just desirable, at least for me. I'd rather have a lot less horsepower and be comfortable than have an amazing motor and hate everything else, you know??[&:]
