Default Racing w/AOD

How many people "load" or "pre-load" their rpms before launching from a dig versuses trying to work out of 1st or 2nd? Also.. from a roll, is it better to gradually hit the accelerator or slam it?... and does slamming the accelerator cause a lot of damage or is redlining the only thing to worry about?

Also, since my thread on getting sideways was locked due to an avatar conflict... is torque the main catalyst in how effectively you can "get" side ways? And would a limited slip posi and/or gears help getting sideways?

how fast from a roll? Just slam it from a roll. If you have good tires you can rev to a certain RPM, you just gotta find what works best.

When I race from a stop (I've also got an AOD) I generally preload to right below 1500 rpms, even before the race I don't even smoke my tires, just give them a quick spin to clean them off because with a stock (or near stock in my case) 5.0 with an AOD you aren't going to be having traction problems until you get some gears or a blower or a H/C/I swap. To "get sideways" with an automatic you need some more power and some gears.

Sorry in advance for the newb questions but, how should you smoke the tires? Hold the brake and floor it and release both? Or what...

Press the brake and ease on the gas until the tires start to spin, do not let up on brake pedal and your tires will start to smoke. This is called powerbraking.
