350z
ORIGINAL: chrisc
iv seen many 350z on late model gt's ('00+)
on the track the stang will win, but because the highway is all about high speeds, the 350z will toast the stang
not to sound like a ricer, but it is true, sometimes it is not just power that wins you the race
for example, 2 nights ago me any my buddy who has had a stock celica went decided to put our cars to the test.
of cource, me having the stang puts the celica to shame with almost double the power and more than double the engine size.
on the small scale races from stop lights and rolls, i toasted his *** and served it with jam
but when we hit highway, that was all his turf, from 60, i blast off to the hundreds in a couple seconds, leaving him a bit behind, but a couple seconds later he zips right by me at ~230mph while i am left in the mid to low end 100's
STOCK CELICA GT
a car that is considered wussie to the import world

You must have been stoned out of your mind. There is no way in hell that a STOCK celica is going to go 230mph, let alone a modded one. Though modded one may be able to (still doubt it though) a stock one sure as hell won't unless it comes falling out of an airplane. Believe me, you definately don't sound like a ricer.

A newer celica will NEVER hit 230mph. I would be willing to put money on that if anyone is interested.
Now, MAYBE the "supra" bodystyled one with a 2jz swap and a HUGE turbo....
ALRIGHT SORRY I HAVE BEEN MISTAKEN
i was talking to my freind with the car about this, and i was like "so everybody says a celica will never reach those speeds"
and he goes "you effing dumba** that was a canadian car and it was in km" [:@]
i am sorry for comming off like that, i feel so dumb right now i cant even explain

I have not notice any difference between the 287 and the 300 horsepower models.
I have not notice any difference between the 287 and the 300 horsepower models.
are you talking about racing them or driving them? i'm pretty sure the 300hp models are only good for two things 1)marketing ploy (people like 300hp better than 287hp despite the tq loss) and 2)track use. the extra hp changes the powerband a bit and lets you wind it out just a bit more.
