Congratulations, its allways fun when you win against a better car/faster car.

*****But your biggest mistake was posting this, because now you going to get,if only the cobra had gears or if only the cobra had a KB....For once lets just accept this and clap to a proud mustang owner.
yep. *waits for jdaniel*

Ehh, I'm happy with what I've got for now. In a couple of years, I'm either gonna drop a twin turboed DOHC 5.4 in this car (and every last thing needed to support it, eliminate flex, and handle well) or i'll break down and go for the snake. Right now, I'm having a hell of a great time with my GT.

Good run!

How much hp are you making? I bet your weight advantage really helped out

381 hp/384 torque at the wheels.
Not sure about the weight though. I've got a loaded 02 GT premium convertable with a water-air intercooled twinscrew supercharger, cobra brakes, subframe connectors and some other parts that add weight (light bar). I'd think he'd be lighter despite the IRS because he's got a non-vert but I'm not sure. In either case, i'm hoping that headers (sitting in my house) and a bump in timing should make the difference (I'm on a pretty conservative tune), and bring the car to over 400 rwhp.

Sounds like the gears you have were the deciding factor in the race. You are putting down equal numbers to what I see most 03/04's putting down stock!!

Must be satisfying as all hell to give them a shot of your bumper in your GT!!

Ran the same guy last night. He took out his spare tire and air filter.
Spanked him again. My car felt MEAN last night in the cold air.
He's already ordered 2.81" pulley, a shorter belt and an X-cal II from Mustang Tuning. I'd like to get him to start posting here. We'll see.

Good kill! The difference in weight definetly helped along with the live axle. You are probably a good 500 lbs lighter and have probably exact numbers on the dyno. What kind of blower do you have in the GT

Good kill. The only surprising thing is that he took you on the start. I would have thought you would have the advantage with axle, weight, and gear on the start and he would have been pulling you on the top end. I guess that twin screw was shining through.

Would a GT vert really be 500 lbs lighter than a Cobra coupe?
I thought the Cobras weighed about the same as a Camaro, around 3500 lbs give or take. Would a GT vert weigh around 3000?
