as much as we (most all) HATE the srt-4 neons, and call it what you will, a ricer, a cheater, an econo box.. all that aside
its talked about sooo much cause of how equal the two cars are down the 1/4
I was freaking pumped when i raced one the last time i was down there. We were SIDE by SIDE the whole damn time (slip to prove it) It was an amazing race, sadly though, i am slightly modded, and his neon was stock. had i launched better, i would have had him by maybe a tenth or so, maybe a tad more. But with a 99-04 GT and an SRT-4, its a drivers race.
Isnt that the ultimate compliment? to say that you beat an equal car, but beat out the driver?
he got me that time, but i'd like to get another chance.
Sadly enough, this debate is gonna continue, much like the 99-04GT vs a LT1

Oh yeah, I always got excited to race a srt-4. I've got alot of respect for their performance.......how they look is a whole other issue[:'(]

My friend is on the verge of picking up an SRT4. He's already starting to get cocky. I know he doesn't drive very good from the way he drove his camaro. I drive pretty decent...been driving 5 speed mustangs for about 10 years. My best time is a 14.02.

He had a 96 Camaro Convertible with the bigblock 3.8L and a 5sp. This car was a real P.O.S!!! He was going to buy my GT in the spring but the insurance was going to be $260/ month. For some reason the SRT insurance is only going to run him $150.

I still dont buy it. A STI only runs low 13s. How is a stock WRX whick has like 70 less BHP going to run almost the same as an STI. Maybe with his mods 13.4 but not stock. Those cars maybe put down 200 whp stock right?
