Default mustang vs evo

went from a 35-40 mph roll to about 65. I lost bad. I should have started in 2nd instead of 3rd but I would have still lost.

you started in 3rd going 35? yeah, that was definitely a huge mistake. i have 3.73s and if i start in 3rd going that fast, i'm not even at the 2000RPM mark. he probably still would have beat you, but he wouldn't have looked as small as he did in front of you if you hit it in 2nd.

you have the stock 2.73's i think right? im not sure but i think thats what the stock gear is, and at 35 40 mph.. why would you start in 3rd? ive noticed with the 4.6 mustangs, they dont have any low end power. if you want to go fast you almost always have to drop a gear or two. with my 96 gt, i have nothing if i try to wind it out at 40 mph in 3rd..

Yeah i had my pick of highway, or a roll. the highway at the time had to much traffic ahead at the time. Also could have gone at the next light, but we didnt.

I have 4:10's. I knew 3rd was a bad ideal when i didnt have to shift. 1st race since i got the gears, kinda live and learn. i was in 4th before when raced, so yeah i should have dropped 2 gears, instead of just the 1. But 2nd gear i would have spun with the street tires, kinda a lose/lose situation right now

Stock gears on a 99-04 are 3.27s. Nanaki has 3.73s.

35-40 to 65? That's way too short of a race to really prove anything. You should go from a dig (Evo's playground) or a slow roll to at least your trap speed, ~100 or so. Depending on the Evo's mods (turbo cars are way easy to add power to), I would think that the longer the race, the better it would be for you.
