I was in hilton head one night coming out of a bar when i heard a loud rcket and looked up to see what it was and it was a viper and 03 cobra racing. They actually pulled into the bar we were at turns out the viper had a body kit and sounded like it was modde'd. it was yellow. I would have loved to have been closer to the road to see that race. HAHA.

...Roughly 35k Corvettes Produced yearly. How many Mustangs produced yearly 200k 300k? I think your information is very inaccurate. I will never be convinced Corvettes are more common than Mustangs.

Theres only 1 Viper I see around here and he always does the speed limit.
Vipers tend to be owned by the same people that own most Vettes: sissy old men who just like to waste horsepower.

Thats funny, because every single vette owner that i know has AT LEAST a cam swap, and drive them to the track all the time. One has a 408, another is turbo, and several are heads/cam cars. Saying that most vette owners are sissy old men is a dumbass statment. My mother also drives a bone stock C6 M6, and drives the **** out of it.

by the end of the short race, he beat me by about 2 car lengths...I think I would of stayed with him (or within like 3 car lengths) till 4th and then he would of started to pull hard again (I have 4.10 gears so not much top speed)

it was a new viper prolly around an 04 (not sure about viper years) and a yonger driver (35-45) it was great

Oh, now that's now fair! I'm probably what you consider old (57), and I own a vette, and I don't think I'm a sissy, and I don't waste HP, although I like to have plnty to burn if I need it.

I normally don't post things like this, but since you brought it up, my wife and I go out cruising on weekends when it is nice. We were out yteresday afternoon (it was a perfect, absolutely perfect sunny day in central NC) and I just killed a 40-something in a new-model red Viper coupe. He pulled up at a light next to me, we looked and I nodded, and we drove out to US1 south. Got side by side at about 40 and nailed it. I put more than five lengths on him before the top of 3rd gear, and was really pulling away when I shut down. He didn't try for a second go at it. Realize i had two on board to his one, too, although my wife is sort of small (115 lbs).

One thing to realize is to go for it with a first-gen Viper the original models are only 415 HP and some wieghed 3500 lbs. They are pretty easy to take compared to the newer 510 HP ones (which weigh about 125 lbsl less, too). I'd expect a stock 2003 Cobra can take one of the early ones, or at least stay even. the newer ones are a lot faster, though.

I raced a Viper once... actually, let me rephrase that... I just tried to keep up with him as we were both heading up the onramp onto I469... needless to say by the time *I* got to 80 mph he had about 20 bus lengths on me.
I did something like that once. He killed me by who knows how many bus lenths. But I did beat my friends taurus
