Well I tend to get into races about 1/2 the time on my way home from work.. so here's another one...

On my way home on a major road near my house, i see fog lights comin up behind me real hard... I notice the z28 (newer one) loud as hell - must've just been a catback... but he goes and I go.. he starts creepin up on me (I started in mid 3rd gear) at about 110... and we catch a red light before he can pass me... we get at the light and as soon as we get there the light hits a green, and we both slam it... I took off by 2 car lengths or so... and maintained 3/4 - 1 car length of em until he had to break because a car was coming up... but by that time I was already doin 100+ and in 4th gear... yeah, he wasn't to happy...

 

Nice kill. Your probably lucky you two didnt go at the same time or from the light.

 

I pulled up to the light 1/2 second before he did and were both at a dead stop and my hand slipped off my shifter going into 3rd... didnt miss the gear just damn fell off the shifter... He wasn't beating me from a dead stop... he jumped at about the same time I did.. I just went bye bye in the lower gears... I got beat down by one before I got my gears and exhaust... This one is a clean win... I know it was and so did he, because after he slowed down because of the car he stayed way back of me... If he thought he got jipped he would've tried again... considering he wanted to go again, after he started catchin me before, then had to stop again...

Nice kill. I was just saying because usually to beat LS1's with a GT, you gotta have all bolt ons and then maybe even a 50 shot.

In any situation it is very rare to see a LS1 playing catch up.

 

Not really, I can't launch for crap so I usually have to try to come from behind on the top end. I lost at the track to a bolt-on 99-04 GT that outlaunched me. I trapped a bit higher but ran out of real estate.
