On BFGoodrich G-Force KDWS tires I could cut 1.8-1.9 60ft times in my Camaro SS's.

Keep in mind it is a lot harder to launch a LS1 F-Body than it is to launch a Mustang.

You can easily tell who knows how to drive a LS1 by there launch.

With what mods? Those are the tires I have and I can see maybe a high 1.9, but 1.8? These things don't hook for crap, even with the pressure dropped a bit (which really doesn't matter with radials).

My car is a Camaro SS with the optional upgraded SLP/Bilstein suspension, OE SLP exhaust and not that it matters but it also has the SLP optional 5 spoke chrome ZR1 wheels. I also added the SLP Y-Pipe, and SLP/Blackwing OE airbox with a Blackwing washable filter.

With the stock Eagle F1's I couldn't do any better than 2.1-2.0 60ft times.

I hope people here will just realize that the LS1 is a handful to launch so they are usually beating the driver not the car.

All else being equal, Mustangs don't hook any better than F-bodies.

Sorry cody I don't buy a 1.8 on KDW's I have had them and they don't hook that well, I could see a high 1.9 but a 1.8 is pushing it. Tommy I think a 6 speed LS1 is a little harder to launch than a Stang due to the crappy 1st gear ratio.

Oh jD I know exactly what ur talking about. Im not in any way saying that the fbody is not a good launcher. I know that they can be killer off the line. But at my track, the usual everyday stock LS1 comes in and doesnt know how to launch. I know for a fact that you could outlaunch me anyday just b/c of experience.

codySS I couldnt agree with you more. I have beaten LS1's in the 1/8 mile, but thats just b/c I got the jump and they didnt have the room to catch up. In the 1/4 mile they woulda smoked me right after the 1/8 mark. I agree, its the driver, not the car.

True. Stock for Stock, the LS1 is almost a full second faster then his GT. Good thing you were modded.

More then likley the Camaro was stock, maybe just a muffler, but probably stock. His GT was modded well enough to keep with him, but notice the GT had 2 car lenths, then only 3/4 when the Z28 had to stop because of cars. The LS1 will always win in the long run.

midblue +1, haha... Like I said i've been ANNIHILATED by a few Z28 and Trans ams.. I think they're fun to race - a good measuring stick imo... Most street races are won because of driver... Although with this guy, I don't think he'd have caught me.. like i said i was already doin 100.. imo once the race gets that fast.. its really over, but I held him back at 3/4 cars for a gear or so.. he really caught me when he hit 3rd...

I don't know why people can't just accept that yes a Mustang GT, with a few minor mods beat a z28... stock or not. It's not like I came on saying how my car was so much faster then a Camaro/TA because it's not - this time I just beat one. If I raced em again, I might beat em again, or he might toast me like he's probably capable... If you don't realize that it's more about the driver from a dead stop then about the car (90% of the time) you got some problems.

I have had 2 LS1 Camaro SS's the 1.9 was in my M6 and the 1.8 was with my Auto.

Now that I think about it I think I may have had my KDW's on when I pulled that 1.8.
