Yeah right. If you buy a fox body stang 87-93 and put $10,000 in it. Nothing will be able to beat it. No RX-7 or 300Z can compete with it. There good cars to mod, but nothing out there has more go parts than the 87-93 5.0's You can get almost anything to make them move. Nice try buddy....

 

where do you fellas get all this about crx's being fast. Hell it would take tons to make those things fast. They only come with about 120 horsepower...And 5.0's come with 225...Big difference from the start...And don't even start the weight issue...if any of you do...then i will start the torque issue....LOL...which the crx has very little of...

way to many go parts for the 5.0's and when i mean go parts i mean real go parts.. not the fart tube and look good CAI's.

 

Whatever, I have better things to do. However, I do have personal experience with a guy who spent 4 grand on his 5.0 motor and dyno'd out to a whopping 260 rwhp.

 

Well that proves only one thing...Your friend was an IDIOT Why spend 4 grand on bolt ons when you can have a Turbo....You can Twin Turbo charge your car for that amount and i bet you...None of your little civics, accords, 300Z or supra's will be able to handle it. Remember this...A 1987 LX 5.0 weighs about as much as your little civic with much more power...Turbo charge it and you will be dynoing alot more than 260 rwhp and i bet my life on that. It will hit low 11's easily..if the car is in any fair condition.

turbocharge the motor yes it'll be great. But saying a 350z or Supra can't hang with it is crazy. I don't care about my Si. the thing was a 93 CRX vs a 93 Foxbody. a 93 CRX does not weigh the same as a 93 foxbody. Therefore it takes less power to go just as quick.

 

owned....what's up with you fellas thinking that a honda crx is gonna beat a five o if you put the same amount of money into it...The 5 liter as lots more go fast parts..the crx has a 100 horsepower disadvantage from the start. Don't get me wrong i like imports just as much as the next man...But that's plain silly...The LX 5.0 Weighs 2700 lbs...about the same as a honda civic. with **** loads of torque and horsepower advantages.. that's not even a fair comparison. come on now.

 

So what's your point. If ford would have put 6 grand into the 99+GT's they would beat the corvette....EVO's and STI's cost 6 grand more than a GT's and they run mid to low 13's. GT's run high 13's low 14's. 6 Grand on any car will make a difference if you spend it right.

 

bandit, crx isn't a civic. the crx weighs roughly 2400 lbs, it has a good 600-800 lb advantage on the 5oh.

To each his own, but I'm not going to back down off this. I've seen too many CRXs and civics running along side a 10 second Viper, perfectly street legal.

 

I don't know where you getting your weight information from. The LX 5.0 are just as light as your crx...not as light but they weigh no more than 2,700 lbs. If there is a crx running 10's they put alot more than $10,000 into it....This isn't fast and the furious make believe crap...Lets be real on here. It takes a lot to make any car run 10 seconds yet alone a 4cyl 100 horsepower car..Just because it's light doesn't mean it's gonna be easily achieved.. Some light cars have worst traction than many heavy rides.

 

for the above...if you have an evo, you still have an evo. and just take a look at most of the 87 lx's you see around. not all of course, nice 'stangs do exist in large numbers.
