beat by a import??
</P>
i may drive a stang but i am not ignorant enough to know that alot of imports packin turbos and japanese motors will whoop my *** . My buddies drive a Gt CELICA turbo all custom first of its kind in the east coast. and the other drives a WRX. and they are both very nice cars, its all just what you want to make fast and how you want to do it. and not knowing honda motors doesnt make you cool</P><edited><editID>snowking11</editID><editDate>38022.1343055556</editDate></edited>

take out that "asolijlkngosiejrseifjlsiejfle" part and you have yourself the name of a 195 hp 1.8L 97-01US Integra Type R Motor. <IMG src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"></P>
well that sucks but it happens it happent to me to but i took care of that problem 4000 later my 03 gt has 445hp and 475lb should i say anymore now i`m looking for anything on the hwy 60 races later and i haven`t lost yet i can`t wait until i do
I know I'm a newbie, but we have all raced our share of imports. On another line... the mustang and any import are in two completely different catagories of car. The mustang is an all around all American muscle car, decended from the lines of it's ancestors. I do believe when imports were born, they weren't built to compete against our beloved mustang. Therefore there is really in all reality no contest. But that is my opinion. I sure as hell didn't buy 4 different Mustangs because I wanted to compete with the imports. To each his own.[sm=smiley20.gif]
soooo your saying that 300zx's, 3000gt VR-4's, rx-7's, sti's, evo's etc, arent out there to race around?? I'm pretty sure thats why those are called "sports cars" not to mention they are all prettyyyyy fastttt, and are deff good comp!
Havent been beat by an import yet. Not planning on lettin it happen either.
7.8 is a good time for a street driven car, unless its LS1 powered or a Cobra, then its easy with only a few mods.
You guys were the first I have seen that admit your engines dont live at that power level. I had my 79 Bird detuned to stay in the 12's (so I didnt need a cage) and it was running 7.7-7.5 in the 1/8th. It takes right about a 7.5 to get in the 11's unless you have a hell of a top end charge. if a 1.8 60 ft is good for an import then thats kool, the best my stock chassis bird jas done is a 1.61 and usually runs in the 1.6 range on slicks and 1.7 on BFG DR's. I was kinda wondering a few things about them you answered, but when you get into engine types and codes, well it doesnt really matter to me. ET matters to me, 7.8 is respectable, but I wont be gettin one and throwin money at it.
My engine was built in 97 and has almost 1000 passes on it and alot of street driving. I had the valve covers off once when I swapped the cam for a bigger solid one. maybe I should run them valves again......

the facts are you have to do alot more to honda's to make them fast.
i just dont like to see some guy in a riced out honda talking trash. I have nothing against imports that beat me. I just dont like the people that make thier car look like joke. Some cars are faster than stangs its a fact but stock for stock an si or prelude is just not faster than a GT.

I'm not saying they're not fast, and I'm not saying they weren't built to race. I am saying that they are built alot different than the "American Muscle Car" (Vette, Camaro, Mustang, T.B.... etc.). The imports are in a totally different catagory. Just like a BMW & a Mustang aren't in the same catagory (Even tho I whooped on one yesterday, shoulda seen the guy's face!). It's like comparing apples and oranges. On top of all that I think those guys have been watching a little too much of The fast & furious movies. Sorry, I'm all mustang... down to the heart.
