Yeah the guys that just rice and talk trash are the ones that give guys like myself and numerous guys on my board a bad name. Lots of guys have a cheap build that is running 12s and blowing everything away in the autocross. It just depends on what you do....rice or build...if you build it WILL NOT cost as much as a new stock GT, but it'll be faster.

i just dont like to see some guy in a riced out honda talking trash. I have nothing against imports that beat me. I just dont like the people that make thier car look like joke. Some cars are faster than stangs its a fact but stock for stock an si or prelude is just not faster than a GT.

You really can't compare it to a new stock GT in price. You're talking about buying a beater and making it fast. Go buy a beater foxbody and put the same amount of $ in it as the honda. The foxbody will own it.

Uh...actually I can, because that was the whole point of the post.
I was comparing vehicle cost new vs. vehicle cost new.
My Si was 18k new, maybe a little more for the few options (body lips, fog lamps, spoiler) for that extra 6 grand you'd better believe I could make it quicker than a 24k GT for 24k total.

i was talking about the older mustangs 89-93.
i bought a 93 gt for 5 grand and my friend bought a prelude for 22 grand. if i put 17 grand into my stang it would stomp the prelude's a**. my car can beat his as it is. there is no comparison between the two they are too different from eachother.

Time tested theory, with enough $ anything can be fast. Just look at it like this though, you could still get into those kickass magazines for having a mid 13 second Honda. They're a rare breed.

I'd like to see the comparison though, 93 GT and 93 CRX bought for 5 grand a piece. Then invest in each with 10k. I bet if done the right way, the CRX would surprise you more than you could have ever imagined.

ive heard this argument from my friend in his 88gt. "i got my gt for xxx your car cost xxx
if i spent xxx i would xxx. its not about that. i bought an 03 because i can afford it. i like comfort and modernization. i could have bought another 87 rx-7 and be as fast if not faster than i am now for 7-8 grand. so what. nice cars and new cars cost loot.

For me to comprehend? ok i challenge you to put together a list of mods you would do for 10 grand to a CRX, and ill put together a list for a 5.0. Well then have OTHER people on this forum decide which would be faster. Let em know.......

stop grouping imports together. thats just stupid. just like saying a chevy aveo is slow so domestics suck. 10k in a 300zx, or rx-7 will own many stangs. in cluding a 5.0. got it? good.
