Those Jettas are fast. I use to work at a VW dealership and I drove a few. I would bet on both VW's to beat you. Now if you had a GT, I would bet on you.

 

Yea man I would say you are going to lose I am not gonna lie. THose Vw's are pretty quick, sad but true...

1998 Jetta GLX 1/4 mile:

- 15.371 @ 91.43MPH
- 14.980 @ 93.160MPH

2005 Mustang V6 Automatic (bone stock, probably not even tuned):

- 15.310 @ 91.01MPH

I'd say it's a drivers' race. Although there's not a whole lot the drivers can do as they're both autos.

 

Close driver's race with the auto 98 Jetta VR6, with an edge to the Jetta.
93 GTI VR6 manual will take you...they were a quick (and light) car then.
