140+ mph speeding ticket?
My buddy has a 97 firebird forumla and he got caught doin 140+ in a 65 ( on 495 in MA ) im just wonderin wats going to happen to him, its 10 mph over double the speed limit, besides the very expensive ticket, does anyone know wat happens to u when u get caught goin that fast... im just glad the stang isnt workin because i would of been with him that night haha

how old is he btw, because if hes less than 21....wow. hell be taking the bus for the next 10-20 years
Double the speed limit in MA results in a license suspension, he's going to get charged with reckless driving, driving to endanger etc etc.
He will probably lose his license for atleast 6 months up to 2 years, maybe more.
There's no leniancy for such a huge speeding offense in MA.

hes only 17.. the cop didnt get him on radar but the ticket says 140+ and its a criminal charge, theres no reckless drivin or anything.. kind of sucks because he just bought his car about 1 month ago..
I have a cop friend that said the jail stuff is a bunch of urban legend. The only moving violation that you can be taken to jail for is DWI. This appears to be true if the fellow received a ticket, and wasn't hauled off right there.
I wonder what the location was... If he passed a cop doing 140, and he stayed on it then immediately gotten off at an exit I bet he might have had a chance of getting away- the cop would have taken 2 minutes to get goin that fast or cover that much ground [&:]
