Question suspension set up help

ok i have a 86 gt 5.0. this summer im wanting to replace my suspension. im pretty sure its all original and it rides horrible. i need your guys opinions on what to buy, i heard that the coil springs are really good and most likely don't need to be replaced and that being said im not wanting to replace them anyways i was thinking control arms, shocks, and struts. my car has 82,000 miles. i will mostly be running on the street as a DD but i wanna be able to go to the track like 4 times a year. what is the best set up for me? thanks guys

Start with a weld in full length subframes, they will seriously reduce noise and stiffen up the car. Shocks/struts should be changed with the springs, and they should be matched to each other.

give us a call at 561.588.6630 and we can get you squared away.

Basically, I'd go through and replace all of the suspension, as finances allow. 26 yr old suspension is most likely completely worn out.

I'd start out with subframe connectors, rear upper & lower control arms, Strange 10-way adjustable shocks & struts, new springs (whatever you prefer, we carry lowering springs and drag springs), cc-plates, and eventually a k-member kit.

All UPR Products are Made in America, they carry a Lifetime Guarantee, and you get a 10% discount as a MustangForums member. More importantly, our suspension works really well. Traction is improved without ruining the ride quality.

PS... you got me reminiscing a little. I have an '86 in storage that I'm getting ready to drag out and start building on again. Here's a pic:
