I have a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0. I've been hearing a popping sound coming from the rear. Brought it to the dealership and they determined I need new struts.

Some history. The first owner lowered the vehicle (I've been told probably a 2/4 drop). Dealership says that I can either put new factory springs on which will raise the vehicle or have new struts that fit installed. Need to find a reputable mechanic in my area. Is there such a thing as a reputable mechanic these days? The vehicle is still under warranty but because of the aftermarket modifications the dealership won't do the work. I'm in the Houston area. Anyone know of a reputable mechanic.
