SVO INFO?

SVO INFO?
I may possibly obtain an 84 SVO in the near future and I wanted to know some of the similarities and differences between the SVO and standard Mustang. I know the basics like engine, suspension, brakes and lugs but what about interior and exterior trim? The SVO I may get needs some exterior restoration, mainly the side molding and rear bumper. It still has the duel wing in good condition. It also needs some interior care such as carpet and seats recovered. What about window molding and weather stripping? Are these the same for the SVO as the GT? Any info would be great. Thanks for the help in advance.

RE: SVO INFO?
Window molding and weather stripping are the same. Some of the moulding pieces are unique as they are different lengths, but a regular Mustang rear bumber should be fine. The 84's seemed to have problems with the rear spats. They would get all dry-rotted and literally fall off in your hand, so beware.Thesingle louvrequarter window coverings are unique. Tail lights are exclusive to the SVO and 93 Cobra (I believe), but they make repros. Of course the hood and front bumper are unique (repro bumpers), all lights are unique but repros are made for all but the extremely rare and expensive PS outer marker, header panel is unique (repros available), and of course the upper wing you mentioned.
Inside, much of it. Unique seats, shifter and boot, horn pad, a couple extra gauges, the center console does have an extra switch or two, and the infamous "fuzzy" panels. Seats can be recovered, there's a guy on svoca.com that goes by Bob TweedyI believe that re-covers steering wheels and horn pads-at a premium, and there is somebody else that can do the fuzzy-panel look.
I think that's most of it. Hope it helps.
