Default My 1st SVO, 10th mustang... Questions...

So i just purchased my 1st svo mustang. the guy i purchased it from said if i wanted to change wheels i would have to change front spindles and all to do 94 up wheels. im wanting to run either skinnes and wide wheels on back or foxbody pony wheels. any info would be great. also anyone know if the intercooler kits they offer on ebay are complete so i can get a front mount?? small performance gains? whats best bang for buck with these cars? mine already has 8.8 with 3.55s locker, tbird turbo coupe ecm... and boost is up. im wanting to get around 300 to 350hp without going bankrupt (just a saying) info and stuff will be great thanks, josh

Wheel choices on these cars are pretty limited. The backspacing and offset is drastically different from SN95 and New Edge wheels. That said, most 2005+ wheels fit pretty well without completely overhauling the suspension. You just have to be cautious about how big you go.

As for power the absolute best bang for buck upgrades are in the exhaust and IC. Get yourself a 3" downpipe to some larger exhaust and a good FMIC. While pricey, Stinger Performance sells both pieces made specifically for these cars. Guaranteed to bolt up and work with no issues.

From there it is going to start getting more complicated and more expensive. More boost and a TC LA3 is a start. If you want a true 300-350 whp and have it actually be streetable and reliable you are looking at a decent list of things including but not limited to:

Bigger Turbo
Bigger Injectors
Tuning Control (MegaSquirt, Tweecer, etc)
Air Flow (Porting, Head work, cam, etc)

Depending on your budget these can be prioritized in different ways to begin approaching your goals.

This forum is very slow, with basically only myself being a semi-regular poster that owns an SVO. I would suggest TurboFord.org for a 2.3T specific site. The regulars there really know their stuff, and it is an archive of excellent information. But a word of caution, you should know your stuff going in and ask very specific questions after already searching for an answer. They don't like having dozens of "What should I do to my car" type posts.

I agree. Real good site for the 2.3 turbo. Recommendation for more power from their.

Like said 3" downpipe, free flowing exhaust, intake and a good fmic. Just he use the search feature. Maurice
Look thru this Proven Combinations.
