I just purchased a 2004 Mystichrome cobra, I love the way the car looks. I liked it so much that the fact is I can't even drive a stick. I am in the process of learning before I do any modifications to the car.

Well, today I realized I need a radar detector. I currently have 3 other vehicles, 2 Acura's and a Dodge Truck. While driving back from Mississippi I got stopped by a State Trooper and he gave me a Warning to slow down I was 15 mph over the limit. I currently own a "Rocky Mountain Radar" it said that it scrambles the cops signals but, after today I am not so sure it really works.
Any suggestions???

Second i have a beltronics radar detector and it works good. Valentine 1 is the best but its also $400. There are many out there to choose from. Im happy with mine but I may go with the Valentine 1 since it shows you where the cop is coming from.

 

i got an escort, it was the top of the line at best buy. the x50 passport 8500. i like it alot. it works very well. i have had no problems with too many false readings and it definately works when you need it. the one thing i do not like about it is the "search" to figure out who is pinging you. it has saved my butt several times.

 

The Valentine is the best one as stated before. I believe the X50 is #2 or #3, definately top 3. It gets picked up by Radar-detecting units a lot sooner.
The V1 is 400, but it will pay for itself. That is the one I'll be getting when I get my C5 in Nov.

You bought a Cobra you can afford a V1, right?
