2004 Cobra Synchro Issue - Help please
I own a 2004 Cobra and am having trouble shifting into any gear when the car is above 3000rpm. I believe it is the synchro. If it is the synchro how do I fix it and how much would it cost. My car is heavily modified and is putting out over 600+hp to the wheels. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

i had new synchro put in my 2001 cobra at SVT authorized dealer (thought that was a good idea if someone was gonna take apart the tranny) parts and labor were just under $2000.

When did the problem start? And is this under WOT or during even "lazy" shifting? If you haven't already done so, I'd recommend to replace the stock shift quadrant/firewall adjuster with either Fiore's or Steeda's. It won't help if you have a syncro issue, but it will help improve overall shift action. Also improves higher RPM shifting. The plastic factory quadrant can start to bend, causing inconsistent clutch engagement and missed shifts. It can also result in a broken stock quadrant or worn synchronizers. With the power you're making you probably have an aftermarket clutch, which makes the stock quadrant even worse.
