Default Temp sensor probe for cooling fan

I need help!

I have a 96' Cobra that is over heating due to the fan not coming on

I know the fan works because it works when the a/c is on.

So it has to be the temperature senseing unit.

Where is it?

On your engine, the temp sending unit is located to the right (if you're looking at the engine from the front) of the alternator. It's mounted on a metal coolant bypass hose There is one also on the left, but thats the coolant temp sending unit so dont get them mixed up. If you get confused, go buy a Haynes repair manual from a parts store (part # is 36051). It has alot of good info.
