99 cutting out
i have a 99 cobra that i haven't owned for very long now but the first time i went to the track to see what it would do the car pretty much died when i shifted into second gear and the same into third. it was like it is bogging way down almost to were the car dies completly. i can't figure it out cause when i am on the street it works fine. it has done this two weeks in a row but like i said only at the track. any guesses would be appreciated.
oh yah the only things done to the car is exhuast, gears, short throw shifter, and lowering springs.

Thats strange that it would only do it at the track.. Its almost like the car has feelings and doesn't want you to beat on it..
I'm pretty sure that there isn't a fix for that type of problem..

yeah turn of your trac control or check if your clutch is slipping bad. I dont know if the clutch would do it but thats the only thing i can think of, is it right when you shift into the gear its RPM lowers drastically?

traction control is off and the clutch is not slipping the car is just shutting down pretty much. i have a friend whos 99 did the same thing but he sold it before finding out the problem. my only guess is a MAF and the car is reading wrong so it is boging or maybe a fuel problem. just don't see how it is only doing this at the track. actually it has done it once on the street but again only when i was racing someone, and only that one time.

just curous what gear? Stock? If the track has glue on it it might be bogging due to not spinning the tires through gears, they might be grabbing and just cause the car to bogg, if is only at the track then that could be the problem

RE: 99 cutting out
just an update i found out why the car was bogging down at the track when running high rpm's. the cold air intake i put on it was from a cheaper company and the tube that went to the throttle was make out of a rubber material, so what was happening is when the car would warm up and then suck in a lot of air the intake tube would almost colapse all the way, thus not letting in any air. fixed the problem by putting a BBK cold air intake on it, works great and no more cutting out. thanks for all the help.
