Default Looking at an '01 Cobra now as well.

Well, this is kind of funny...I bought a 2000 GT recently...and I love it. My Dad really likes the car as well, and has offered to pay me what I paid for it in cash to take it off my hands. He's retired, and has always wanted a Mustang GT for years now, but never wanted to pay the prices for them new. I found a '01 Cobra here locally, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy it. I'm set to test drive it on Tuesday, and pay for it on the following Monday or Tuesday with what my Dad's giving me in cash, and some more money I had saved up for a while. Anything in particular I should be looking/listening for during the test drive? It only has 21k on the clock, and looks to be in great condition (garaged, one owner, etc...)....thanks for any help you can give.

Dave.

That's what I thought too about the price. KBB lists it for about $18,600 for the condition and mileage...as far as I know, there are no aftermarket things added to it...I'm sure I'll find out more info when I test drive it on Tuesday. I'll let you know what I find out, but I'm pretty set on getting it, that much I know

why not spend a few more grand and get an 03? once the 05 stang hits, prices are gonna drop big time.

nomocobra...I see your point...and something else just landed in my lap today...so it appears I'm going to go for a '02 plain jane GT that I found here locally as well. Sucks about the Cobra, but other bills take priority, and I found the '02 for less of a difference when my Dad buys the 00 off me this week. So I'm still happy, and the '02 is a 5 speed, where the '00 was an auto...so it's all good. Very short but sweet run with the 2000, but I know I'll be just as happy with the 2002. Looks like I'll be changing my sig once again (this time for good, I promise[8D]).

I say get it! I paid $19,000 for my 2001 Cobra with 7k miles. The salesman was a buddy of mine and sold it to me at what he would pay for the car
