Today I had a problem getting my car into reverse, it takes both hands to force it over. Then I get the service engine soon light so I pull the codes and this is what I get.

P0443Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit

P0446Evaporative Emission System Vent Control Circuit

P0135O2 Sensor Heater Circuit

P0141O2 Sensor Heater Circuit

P0155O2 Sensor Heater Circuit

P0161O2 Sensor Heater Circuit

P0403Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Circuit


I had one more code come up P1000 and found no info on it it says test not complete.


So I get underneath the car and start looking around to see if the lock reverse it unplugged and it is not, but it maybe out??? I notice that some wires which run to the 02 sensors have laid on the exhaust and melted this may explain all of those codes not sure. The reverse really bothers me though and the car goes into all gears but reverse so I don't think it is a clutch problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.[/align]

 

This isnt really my area of expertise, but from the sounds of it, I would just take it to your local ford dealership and have them look at it. It sounds like it could potentially be a real asspain.

As for the reverse gear, maybe its a problem with the syncros in your transmission combined with those melted wires you saw?
