I have a 2000 GT vert with 50K miles on it, and I am interested in swapping the solid axle on my car with the independent rear suspension from an 03-04 Cobra.

I would like the better handling and smoother ride offered by the IRS, and I understand there are several Cobra owners who like the solid axle better for drag racing, correct?

I don't want to pay anything to do this (and I'm not looking for any payment), and I have access to a good mechanic in Hermosa Beach CA, or you could provide the shop to do the swap. I'd like to keep this local (no shipping of parts and such).

I guess the exhaust systems need swapped as well, from what I understand.
