Default Porting the Eaton by Apten

I read an article several months ago about this company porting the Eaton. It supposedly gets you some good gains along with a pulley swap, which they will do if you send in your s/c. They also sell customized chips for your setup.

My question is, what do you guys/gals think of this as a power adder? It's not the cheapest thing to do, and you also will have downtime while waiting for this to come back from them. But with the winter here, now would be a good time I guess. Just looking for opinions or if someone has actually done this and what you can expect out of it.

Thanks!

Folks are starting to do the Apten port instead of a KB because their gettin similar (but not quite the same) gains. Apten has core charges as well, so you could order a ported unit and swap out and send your old one in to get back the core charge. I've seen gains as high as 60 rwhp from their portwork - an actual before and after dyno from MPH I believe. If I had a Cobra, I wouldn't go the KB route - I'd go with a 2.8 Pulley, Apten portwork, and typical bolt-ons and expect 550 rwhp

I'd tend to agree. The KB is also $6000 just for parts....Kinda makes the $400+ charge from Apten a steal, although you can count on spending extra $$ for the tune, but still well worth it. I think last time I checked Apten was a little backed up, but are moving to a newer facility where they can handle the extra work. I think I'm going to seriously consider this mod.

Thanks for the post!
