underdrive pullys

Default underdrive pullys

Has anyone put underdrive pullys on a 96-98 cobra? I tried today and when i got to the dampener I could not get the center bolt off. Is it a reverse threded bolt? If anyone has done this upgrade any imput would be greatly appreciated

I'm pretty sure i got mine off but using a torque wrench. However after that i couldnt get the bolts that are used with the harmonic ballancer to fit into the pulley. Try fitting your bolts into the pulley and let me know if yours fit or not.

dude!!! i just did this the ither day on my 97. i did it the easy way. i pulled my radiator and got a impact wrech on it. that the only way you will get un less you put a screw driver in you stater and flywheel teeth. then you will need a 3 point pully puller to get it off. o and dont forget to take the washer off after you take the bolt off or the pully puller wont work.

put your car in gear and try it. a couple of hard pulls with a breaker bar and it got mine, i can tell a big difference ith them.
