Hi I was thinking about purchasing an 02 Mustang GT. I really like the Cobra SVT body kit though and realized they did not make the cobra in '02. I was wondering if the 01 Cobra front bumper or the 03 would fit on an 02 Mustang GT? Thank you!

'99/01 bumper is going to be different than the '03/04. 99/01 will fit fine. The 03/04 you will have to play with a little bit to get to align with your hood. the '03/04 Cobra hood is about 1" shorter, so you will have to pull the vertical posts on the bumper out to align with the nose of the hood, or you will have a bit of an 'overbite' look.

 

so if i want the 03 cobra look, go with the 03 GT?

 

no, you will have the same problem on an '03 GT. 99-04 V6's, GT's and '99/01 Cobras are interchangeable. The '03/04 Cobra hood is about an inch shorter, so they adjusted the '03/04 bumper to mate to it.

If you want to put an '03/04 Cobra bumper on anything else, you either need to play around with the vertical pieces to get them to align, or swap an '03/04 hood on as well. The '03/04 hoods are sexy as hell, so thats not a bad option.

 

isnt the 99-01 cobra front bumper almost identical in looks to the 03-04?

 

simialar, but not identical. also, if you look at them from the side, the '03/04 is a little straighter where the '99/01 nose turns up a little bit.

ah nice. both are nice but i would like to have the 03 hood. is the 03 lowered?
