4.10 gears???
Im debating on putting 4.10 gears on my '01 Mustang Cobra. I have been told that my gas mileage would stay the same and/or increase. There will also be a SCT chip going onwitht the gears. And I have also been told that it would decrease my gas mileage. Can anyone give me some good advice on this point?
Thanks

RE: 4.10 gears???
Putting 4.10's in will not increase your gas mileage....at best it will stay roughly the same. Whatever tune is in the SCT chip will determine your gas mileage there. In general, "hot tunes" aren't known forbeing gas friendly.

RE: 4.10 gears???
Its not going to hurt your gas milage unless you bury your foot to the floor constantly. It 'can' increase your milage around town because your var will accelerate from a stop much easier than with the stock gears, so you 'theoritecally' wont get on it as hard. Some people have reported an increase in their milage, but it comes down to your driving style.
The only debate you should have is weather 4.10's are enough, or if you want to step up to 4.30's or 4.56's instead!

if your worried about gas miledge.. get a honda jk
get 4.30's at least n/a
some people will do 4.30's with a centri
but most people will do 3.73-4.10's with a kb
